Coaches Guide

Guide to preparing your team

Team assessments: Brief Explanation

In early September, Community club hockey registrations begins. SBMHA ( ST. BONIFACE MINOR HOCKEY ASSOCIATION) is requesting that the community clubs collect $100.00 from every hockey registrant. This will be an up front payment of the registrants hockey registration fees. The community club will be invoiced for registration fees on the following dates:

September 15/03

One invoice to each community club to collect initial registration fees. ($100.00 X number of registrants).

November 15th/03

One invoice to each community club to collect another $100.00 for every registrant that is playing on a team based out of your club age 4 to 14 and $200.00 for every registrant aged 15 to 17. ( These numbers are based on the average cost to each player from the following year. Adjustments will be made for each age group by December).

December 15th/03

This will be the reconciliation date. Rosters will be finalized and the community club will either receive an invoice or a refund after all the numbers are in and crunched.

Note: It is the responsibility of the community club to keep good records detailing things like late registrations, AA players, AAA players, how many players are playing female hockey and how many players that have quit and/or been refunded money.

What this means is the $100.00 you paid at registration has been forwarded to SBMHA by the club. Each player in the age group of 4-14 will be assessed another $100.00 to be paid to Winakwa Community Club no later than November 15th. (We are are only assessing $70.00 for house team players). Each player between 15 & 17 will be assessed $200.00 to be paid by the same date. Winakwa CC also assesses $25.00 per player for the cost of equipment, jerseys, etc. A refundable amount of $40.00 is also assessed for Canteen duty to all players that the club is hosting. These amounts will also be due by November 15th. You will also be assessed each month for any ice that has been assigned/booked by your team in the previous month. These bills are due immediately. On December 15th, I should receive the final assessment and will in turn try to get them out to you by X-Mas. Those age groups that get refunds, typically 5-8 years, should get a check early in the new year.

4)      Hockey Fees Due Around November 15th

a.     Attempt to collect most of the fees at the beginning of the year and at your first parent  meeting. a breakdown of typical fees collected:

Practice Ice Rental                         $130.00 Hr  (estimated)
