WELCOME TO WINAKWA COMMUNITY CENTRE!
Winakwa is a warm, vibrant community centre with abundant programming
and wonderful community spirit. We have been ranked as one of the top
ten community centres in the city! We strive to offer programming for
every age group, from Stay and Play for parents with tots to Adult
Slo-pitch (the best league in town!), not to mention square dancing ,
where they pack the main hall every Thursday night! Whether its sports
or dance classes, Bingo or Youth Drop-in - we have something for
everyone!
We are affiliated with Healthy St. Boniface, the Community
Mobilization Project, the Lighthouse Program and the Special Needs
program out of Windsor Park Collegiate. As a socially conscious
community centre, our volunteers are always willing to lend a hand.
Over the past few years, we have seen over $300,000 in improvements
and our Building Committee continues to work hard to secure funding for
a $1.7 million expansion that will see a new gymnasium, front entrance,
change rooms, skate exchange, 2nd floor viewing gallery and extensive

A SPECIAL NOTE TO OUR FRIENDS IN
SOUTHLAND PARK...
We hate to hear stories about families being
allowed to register at the wrong community centre, only to be told down
the road (when association rules kick in and illegal players jeopardize
the team) that they must leave. So start out at the right place and be
ready to make a whole lot of new friends. Many of your neighbors will
confirm what we already know - Winakwa is the place to be!
