Guidelines
of Duties and Responsibilities of Team Members
Operating
any community hockey team smoothly requires the full participation and
co-operation of all stakeholders including coaches, parents, and players.
As one can see, there is more to the sport
than taking your child to the rink and being a chauffeur and
spectator. This document serves as a general guideline and teams may choose to
handle affairs in a different manner.
The process differs slightly from Novice to Midget. Typically, the head
coach is identified prior to or shortly after the tryout and team formation
process and this person convenes the initial Parents Meeting. At this meeting,
parents volunteer for the various positions listed. Many individuals have
previous experience and prefer doing certain jobs however the same individuals
should not be expected or pressured to do these jobs every year. Also included
in this document is a General Code of Conducts for Coaches, Parents and Players
developed by the CHA and endorsed by the FHC.
